Absorption

Absorption is a critical phase in the journey of nutrients from your small intestine to the bloodstream, ultimately reaching cells throughout the body. This intricate process involves the transfer of nutrients from the digestive tract into the systemic circulation, where they are then distributed to various tissues and organs. The small intestine, with its extensive surface area provided by villi and microvilli, plays a pivotal role in this process. These finger-like projections significantly enhance the intestine’s ability to absorb nutrients efficiently, maximizing the surface area for nutrient contact.
